For those looking for neighborhood-based activities, the Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association is hosting its 28th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. This community-centered event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Powderhorn Recreation Center. Attendees can expect a mix of thoughtful programming, local artistic performances, and community dialogue, all aimed at fostering unity and remembrance in south Minneapolis.
Flagship Celebration at the MLK Recreation Center
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board will hold its flagship evening event at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This year’s celebration features community advocate Kenneth Foxworth as the keynote speaker and musical performances by the Known MPLS youth choir.
