Lonely’s Bar Plans Early May Opening in Former Pracna on Main Building on St. Anthony Main

A long-vacant riverfront bar space is scheduled to return to service this spring
A new bar called Lonely’s Bar is slated to open in early May in the former Pracna on Main space on St. Anthony Main, returning regular bar operations to a prominent riverfront address that has sat largely dormant as a drinking destination since Pracna’s closure in 2015.
The venue is planned for the Pracna building at 117 SE Main St. in Minneapolis, a longtime landmark on Main Street SE near the Mississippi River. The site has been widely identified for decades as part of the St. Anthony Main commercial district and is associated with the historic run of Pracna on Main, which operated as a bar and restaurant and marketed itself as among Minneapolis’ oldest continuously operating establishments during its final years.
Ownership team and local ties
Lonely’s Bar is being developed by Eric Odness and Erik Hamline. Odness is known locally for his role behind Zhora Darling, a bar and restaurant that opened in northeast Minneapolis in 2023. Hamline leads the Minneapolis design studio A1A Inner Peace and has operated retail and hospitality concepts that include Equipment and the Café Harmony/Bar Harmony program.
The pairing suggests a project that combines bar operations experience with an in-house creative and interior design function, a structure increasingly common among new hospitality openings that aim to control brand identity, fit-out decisions and day-to-day concept execution under a smaller leadership group.
Concept: a “traditional bar” with game-day programming
Project details released ahead of opening describe Lonely’s as a traditional neighborhood bar, with a menu framed as nostalgic and a set of familiar bar-room amenities. Plans include a pool table and game-day promotions tied to Minnesota’s professional sports calendar, specifically the Twins and Vikings.
Opening target: early May (spring 2026)
Core features: traditional bar format, “nostalgic” bar menu, pool table
Programming: Twins and Vikings game-day promotions
Setting: riverfront patio use is part of the plan, highlighting the Mississippi River-facing location
Why the reopening matters for St. Anthony Main
St. Anthony Main has long functioned as a mixed-use corridor with entertainment and dining clustered around the riverfront. Reoccupying the former Pracna space adds a new anchor to the street’s evening economy and restores a bar presence to a building strongly associated with hospitality use.
Lonely’s Bar is expected to bring back regular bar traffic to a riverfront address that previously served as a well-known gathering point on Main Street SE.
Operational details such as hours, final menu, staffing levels, and outdoor service timing have not been publicly finalized. The early-May target places the opening near the start of Minneapolis’ peak patio season, when riverfront foot traffic typically increases and outdoor seating becomes a key competitive asset for nearby bars and restaurants.
