Public Meeting Notice: Climate & Infrastructure Committee

The City of Minneapolis has scheduled a meeting of the Climate & Infrastructure Committee for today, Thursday, February 12, 2026. The session will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Room 380 of City Hall. This committee is tasked with overseeing the city’s environmental policies, public works projects, and transportation initiatives. Residents are encouraged to monitor the Legislative Information Management System (LIMS) for real-time updates on agenda items and supporting documents. The meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast live via the city’s official YouTube channel and local government access cable channels.

Zoning Board of Adjustment Public Hearing

The Zoning Board of Adjustment will convene today at 4:30 p.m. at the Public Service Center (PSC), located at Room 350. The board is scheduled to hear several applications for variances, including:

  • 1100 Irving Ave N: Applications for variances to permit a new off-street parking area (PLAN 20772).
  • 120 37th St W: An application for a variance to permit the construction of a detached garage (PLAN 20800).

Community members interested in providing testimony regarding these specific land-use applications may attend in person. Written comments submitted prior to the meeting will also be included in the official record for board consideration.

Advisory Committee Sessions

Two key advisory committees are meeting today to discuss community welfare and strategic planning:

  • Minneapolis Advisory Committee on Aging: Meeting at 1:00 p.m. in Room 100C of the Public Service Building. This committee provides recommendations to city leadership regarding the needs of older residents.
  • Minneapolis Advisory Committee on Housing: Meeting at 3:00 p.m. in Room 100 of the Public Service Building. The committee will review current housing trends and policy proposals aimed at increasing affordability and stability across the city.

Winter Parking and Public Works Update

As of February 12, 2026, the City of Minneapolis has not declared a Snow Emergency. Normal winter parking rules apply; however, residents are reminded to stay vigilant regarding potential weather shifts and to sign up for MPLS Alerts for immediate notification of parking restrictions. Public Works crews continue to monitor street conditions for ice and localized snow pileups to ensure emergency vehicle access is maintained. Additionally, garbage and recycling services remain on their regular Thursday schedule today.

Black History Month Observance

The City of Minneapolis continues its month-long celebration of Black History Month. Residents are invited to participate in community events organized by the Minneapolis Black Employee Network (MBEN) and other local partners. Information regarding exhibits and educational programs at city facilities can be found through the Neighborhood and Community Relations department.
