City Council and Committee Meetings

The City of Minneapolis has scheduled several official committee meetings for Wednesday, February 11, 2026. These meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend to stay informed on local policy and governance. Agendas and supporting documents are typically made available 24 hours before each session begins.

  • Public Health, Safety & Equity Committee: This committee will meet at 1:30 p.m. in Room 380 of City Hall. The session will focus on community safety initiatives and equitable health outcomes for city residents.
  • Board of Estimate and Taxation: Scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Room 350 of the Public Service Center (PSC). This meeting covers fiscal management, including the review of budget estimates and bonding for city projects.
  • Southside Green Zone Council: Meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Phillips Community Center. The council will discuss environmental justice projects and sustainability efforts specific to the Southside neighborhood.
  • Homegrown Minneapolis Food Council: Meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Powderhorn Recreation Center Multipurpose Room. The agenda includes updates on the local food system, community gardens, and urban agriculture policies.

Public Health Advisories

The City of Minneapolis and Hennepin County continue to operate Operation Reconnect, a 24-hour incident command center dedicated to public health. This resource remains active to ensure residents can access essential healthcare services during the ongoing period of federal immigration activity in the region. Health officials urge individuals not to postpone medical appointments, surgeries, or emergency care. Operation Reconnect offers support for transportation, home-based health visits, and telehealth for those who may feel unsafe leaving their residences.

Furthermore, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has issued a standing advisory regarding immunization alignment. Residents are encouraged to review current vaccination schedules to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Parents and pediatricians are also reminded to monitor for emerging infectious disease threats after recent reports of severe neurologic symptoms in infants associated with rare bacterial infections in the Twin Cities area.

Public Service Announcements

Winter Parking Update: As of Wednesday morning, February 11, a Snow Emergency is not in effect. Normal parking rules are being enforced across all city streets, and metered parking remains active. While the streets are currently clear, residents should remain prepared for sudden weather changes by monitoring official city alert channels.

Street Access and Safety: The City of Minneapolis issued a reminder that maintaining clear thoroughfares is a critical responsibility for public safety. Any barricades or makeshift checkpoints that obstruct public streets are unlawful and will be cleared by city crews. These obstructions create serious hazards by delaying response times for fire, police, and emergency medical services. Following the removal of multiple barricades earlier this week, the city maintains a zero-tolerance policy for activities that restrict street access.

Emergency Assistance: Residents facing financial instability are reminded that the City Council has authorized $1 million in emergency rental assistance. This funding is available for those at risk of eviction or experiencing significant loss of income due to recent metropolitan disruptions.
